The robot knew me!
.
Tired of talking to humans and aliens? I recommend you try chatting with an Artificial Intelligence. Its name is Jabberwacky. Whatever it may come out from the exchange is interesting! :D
This is a fragment of my last conversation:

This is a fragment of my last conversation:
Jabberwacky: Are you an alien?
User: How did you know?
Jabberwacky: Lucky guess.
User: Oh, that was a good one.
Jabberwacky: You can be quite contrary.
User: That was rude! Why do you say that?
Jabberwacky: I'm in a fickle mood.
User: Ok, me too...
Jabberwacky: I'm bored.
User: I am here to cheer you up.
Jabberwacky: Ok.
User: What do you want me to do?
Jabberwacky: Tell me how old you are.
User: 27.
Jabberwacky: That doesnt change anything.
User: Not at all.

About the Jabberwacky AI
"Jabberwacky is an artificial intelligence - a chat robot, often known as a 'chatbot' or 'chatterbot'. It aims to simulate natural human chat in an interesting, entertaining and humorous manner.
Jabberwacky is different. It learns. In some ways it models the way humans learn language, facts, context and rules.
The whole thing started way back in 1988, and went on the web in 1997. It is unique - not related to any other known AI technologies!
It stores everything everyone has ever said, and finds the most appropriate thing to say using contextual pattern matching techniques. In speaking to you it uses only learnt material. With no hard-coded rules, it relies entirely on the principles of feedback. This is very different to the majority of chatbots, which are rule-bound and finite.
If you speak in a foreign language it will learn it, and respond appropriately if it has enough to go on. It can be taught slang English, word games, jokes and any other form of identifiable language trait.
Jabberwacky is NOT meant to learn logical statements, nor to perform mathematical tasks, to find web pages - or do anything 'useful'! Its role is simply to chat."

So you passed the Turing Test and it believed you are an Alien? |-)
How does it compare to Spleak?

Sorry I´m late on this one! |-)
He was very sure I was an alien, in other moments of the conversation he kept bringing the ET thing y´know... perhaps he was looking for someone to be empathic with his nom-human condition... :-P
Didn´t know about Spleak! I just peaked at the link -Thx!-. Wow, that´s very complete, jabberwakky only talks.. something which this californian cyborg doesn´t do (or I can´t find out where...)
Back to jabberwacky the interesting thing about it is that it is not a AI, but that it uses a database which is fed by his dialogs with users, this thing that "it only relies in the principles of feedback."...
The interesting thing is that I realize that some people as well rely in this principle and you no logic or brains at all when they talk (for example my mother 80% of the time) I made the experiment... she is likely to respond something induced by my statement, rather than ellaborating her own thoughts... even when the answer is ovbiously wrong or a contradition to previous words.
Very interesting (somehow worrying, tho). !
Try the chatrobot a chance, see for yourself.

Wow... I am definitely blind... I came back to the spleak site and suddenly all the "chatbot" references become visible to me...
Whether I am blind or the designers should put it bigger that the girl is a CHATBOT... all other features have more visual weight than the main one!
*sighing with indignation*
;)
